Here’s a clip I took of of Anglo Coal’s Isibonelo Colliery on South Africa’s Mpumalanga Highveld. It was taken from a publicly accessible position – no closed gates or warning/prohibitory signs were encountered to record it. The clip starts with high yield agricultural land, passes berm (water retaining / diverting) walls and a dragline and ends with mine dumps.

You can view the clip at http://youtu.be/cZE6katyKdk

Do you think this is good or bad? Do you see something positive, or is there something in the clip that concerns you?

Please comment and give your opinion. I’m also adding a poll for you to partake in.

  1. Ask the company for its access to information manual, read ikt and follow the procedure to get the copies.
